A Dream Come True: Another PokerStars Qualified Takes Down EPT Paris

Players that have qualified via PokerStars have had tremendous success on live tours, and the site regularly gives away hundreds of tickets to live tournaments.

When Chris Moneymaker won the WSOP Main Event during the Poker Boom, hundreds of new players signed up for online poker sites, all with the same goal in mind: to win a big live poker event.

More people’s dreams have come true thanks to PokerStars than any other online poker operator, most notably Romanian poker player Razvan Belea, who won the European Poker Tour (EPT) Paris Main Event after qualifying via a PokerStars satellite.

Belea qualified for the EPT Paris Main Event by participating in a $530 satellite hosted by PokerStars in advance of the tournament. It was possible for players to qualify for the $530 satellite for as little as $1.10.

The first events the Romanian EPT champion ever played in were freerolls on PokerStars. In just a few years, he was competing in EPT Main Events all across the continent and eventually taking home the bracelet he had been after.

As you read this, there are still plenty of qualifiers open in PokerStars’ lobby to secure your position in one of the numerous PokerStars-sponsored live poker events taking place around Europe and the rest of the globe in 2023.

PokerStars: Turning Hopes Into Reality
PokerStars LIVE tournaments, including the European Poker Tour (EPT), have been open to online players as a prize since the site first launched.

Many of players have joined minor PokerStars live tours like the EUREKA, APPT, LAPT, etc., thanks to winning an EPT seat. This was the first big live poker tournament for several of them, while others had previously won spots at smaller events.

Winner of the first PokerStars Players Championship (PSPC) and recipient of the Platinum Pass, Ramon Colillas’s tale is the most well-known example of a PokerStars online satellite winner whose ambitions came true.

In 2023, PokerStars revived the PSPC and introduced the Platinum Pass, a system that lets players qualify for the event without having to travel to Las Vegas.

Two online qualifiers made it to the PSPC final table, where every reward was a startling sum well worth competing for, but the champion was not a Platinum Pass winner.

Everyone Has an Equal Chance
If you’re looking for a ticket into more live poker events than ever before, look no further than PokerStars’ expansive satellite tournament area.

At of this writing, PokerStars is hosting satellites to events all around the world, including the Irish Open in Dublin, EPT Monte Carlo, Estrellas Madrid, LAPT Montevideo, APPT Cambodia, and more.

Freeroll and cheap buy-in first-step satellites are always available from the operator, making it possible for anybody to qualify for important live event packages, and the operator will continue to add fresh satellites as the new live tournament stops approach throughout the year.

Each satellite on PokerStars provides more than just a buy-in, with perks like free or discounted lodging and transportation sometimes included.

In 2023, PokerStars is a wonderful place to begin your live tournament poker circuit grind since it offers free and low-cost ways to enter the operator’s main events.

Using your poker talents to gain seats at reduced prices compared to direct buy-ins means you may play more hands with the same bankroll, increasing your chances of winning a live event and furthering your poker career.
